fall transition dressing

There is a definite chill in the air…and I ain’t mad about it!

Fall seems to be the favorite season here in the Midwest. The color change is right around the corner, as is the need cozy knits, textured pieces and super cute boots!

But…we aren’t there yet!

For me,transitional dressing can be the most difficult; not quite sure if I’ll be too hot, or too cold. Pairing easy denim skirts with chunky knits not only takes me from day-to-night, but allows me to feel comfortable, cozy and cute. [Check. Check. and Check!]

I love the femininity that a skirt provides to an outfit. Wearing an oversized sweater, not only balances the look, but makes the outfit relatable. Not too binding and not too fancy. Plus, mixing chunky knits with summer-ish pieces allows me to get the most out of my summer wardrobe, while I still can.

If you follow me, you know that wearing sneakers is definitely my ‘thang’ lately, but who doesn’t love an ankle bootie with a skirt?! Come on, now! I love this white Marc Fisher LTD bootie from last season [similar here]. These boots have so many functions and don’t read too western.

These outfits are perfect for weekend brunches, meetings or casual dinners on the weekends with your guy or girl gang! Also, if you’re traveling any time soon, you can pack efficiently with a single skirt and multiple (sweater) tops!
